Small Seascape | Daily Painting | Small Oil Painting | Morning Light by Carol Schiff | 8x10 Original Oil | SOLD

I have been spending so much time in the Blue Ridge Mountains, my trips to the beaches have suffered.  Time to roll out of bed before the sun, grapb a cup of coffee and go for a short drive to the sea.

SOLD
Just as I arrive, the sun starts it's slow climb above the horizon.  I have forgotten how peaceful and beautiful it is on the beach at this time of day.  Way down the beach, I can see a fisherman, but other than him we are alone with the birds who are looking for breakfast.

It is so enjoyable here, cool, serene.....I feel refreshed and ready to start my day.

Do you have a happy place too?

This painting was commissioned by a client who saw a similar work on my Etsy site.  The piece she wanted was already sold.  I was happy to do a similar painting in the size she desired.

I am overstocked on these daily paintings, so I have them on sale on my Etsy site this week.  I am offering a $15.00 rebate on any 5x7 or 6x8 painting sold.  Just write ETSY SALE on your order and I will credit your PayPal or Credit Card account.

Thank you for reading my blog today.

Fall Sunrise, 20x20 Oil Painting on Canvas Seascape at Dawn by Carmen Beecher

I am so lucky to live across the street from the beach. I can leave stress, traffic, and noise, and in a few steps I am in a calming place, even when the surf is as big as this. It's like entering another dimension, and early morning makes it a very colorful one.

To see a more accurate picture of this painting, click on the "click to buy" link above (it just takes you to Etsy). No matter how much I lighten it in my blog, it still looks more intense and darker than the original. I've tried and tried to fix that without success, so I just have to post it with a disclaimer. This didn't always happen and I don't know why it is happening now, but if any techno geniuses out there can tell me how to fix it, I'd be glad to hear from you.

I love this painting.  I took the reference photo on Huntington Beach, CA.
It was my first trip to the ocean and this little family was walking along an
almost deserted beach.  It was also the first time on the beach for the
little boy.  He was having so much fun!  Please see this and

Sun on the Beach, 7x5 Oil Painting Seascape by Carmen Beecher

Discover Seascape Art, Realistic Seascape Paintings, Seascape Paintings, Contemporary Seascape Paintings, Abstract Seascape Paintings, as International Artists post daily their newest artwork. .

This painting was easy to name. This beach is behind a local restaurant called Sun on the Beach. Erosion is a problem here, so those sea oats you see are protected because they help anchor the dunes. We also are a Sea Turtle Preservation area, where sea turtles come out of the ocean at night and lay their eggs and bury them. When they hatch, the little hatchlings hurry to the sea. It's a hazardous beginning; if they don't escape the notice of birds they are goners.

Mama Turtles continue to reproduce until they are 80. If they had to rear all those children, they would soon curtail this behavior!

Sea Vista, 11x14 by Carmen Beecher

The ocean is exhilarating, and right now people are flocking to the beach in the exultation of Spring. Our water has been a gorgeous color lately, and worthy of painting.

I worked overly hard on this one; it took me a while to be satisfied with my results. There is danger in that, because sometimes you pass the point where you should have stopped. I ended up layering mixes of color and Liquin until I was satisfied with the results.
