I so believe this, and have proven it to be true for myself. It is an exercise I have used many times, even recently when it seems the "rainy days" of life refuse to let up. 
The worse you feel- the more important it is to SMILE. Just try it, try walking around all day today smiling. Smile at yourself smile at others, smile at your pets and the pile of work on your desk and your laundry and your dishes and the crazy drivers on the road, and did I say YOURSELF?? Before long you'll be giggling, and the smile will be real not forced!!

This is painting #6 of the 30/30 painting challenge with Leslie Saeta

It's always interesting to see what emerges in an abstract painting.....not at all what I thought I was happening -did not think I was painting anything coastal....maybe you see nothing coastal in this piece- that is the beauty of abstract art- each viewer sees something completely different - based on their personality and personal experiences.

This day in the studio was a "play day". No commissions- or deadlines- just playing for the sheer FUN of it.....back to my abstract roots.

When I stepped away from this piece, I admit I was a little confused- but when I went back into the studio the next morning- I saw a school of beautifully colored little fish...and big fish leading little fish out of their little sea cave!!

This is painting #5 of the 30/30 painting challenge with Leslie Saeta

I just love the softness of this piece - so tender and serene....romantic even.

I had a very different title picked out for it, then my Mom, who lives in Florida said it looks like the little sandbars at Panacea beach when she walks at low tide.

So....I changed the title- now I will have to paint something new for the lovely title I originally chose!! That's very opposite of how I paint. I paint emotionally- letting the painting reveal itself to me- I rarely go into the studio with a title in mind!

So we shall see if I can actually paint something that represents the beautiful title I have in my head...stay tuned...I will share if and when it happens:)
