I'm so enjoying painting with pastels.
This scene can be anywhere,
but for the sake of a title,
I named it Fernandina Sunset.
End of day has a certain
beautiful melancholy to it.

Having just enjoyed a long walk on the beach,
I came back to the house to paint.
I wanted to capture the luminescent reflection
of the sky on the incoming water.
Also the reflection on the sand and many blues of the sky.
I wanted my painting to shimmer.

Small Seascape, Daily Painting, Small Oil Painting, "Beach Music" by Carol Schiff, 6x8" Oil
Living close to the sea, it is no surprise that I paint a lot of seascapes. The sea and mountains have one thing in common....they never look the same from day to day or even minute to minute. Fascinating and beautiful!
Life gets busy and sometimes I don't visit the beach for months at a time. When I finally get there, it is like visiting an old friend. I always vow to get back more often.

Ghost Ship, 20x20 Oil Painting on Canvas by Carmen Beecher
Discover Seascape Art, Realistic Seascape Paintings, Seascape Paintings, Contemporary Seascape Paintings, Abstract Seascape Paintings, as International Artists post daily their newest artwork. .
After Florida was hit with Hurricane Irma, this sailboat was found
washed up on Melbourne Beach. Authorities eventually discovered that the boat came all the way from Key West,
hundreds of miles away. Aboard, oddly enough, were two mannequins, a large
velvet rose, and a sign that declared, "beatings will continue until
morale improves."

Beach Oil Painting, Florida Painting, Small Oil Painting, Daily Painting, 6x8" Tropical Painting
I recently returned home from four wonderful days on Amelia Island, Florida. The ocean is often very calm there....not a good surfing place. One evening we stood on the beach and watched dusk descend over the water.
It was the first time I have been inspired to do a landscape in quite awhile. I felt very relaxed, just painting this peaceful scene. Hope you like it!
Have a great day!

Carmen Beecher: Sunrise on the Beach, 8x6 Original Oil on Canvas S...
Watching
the sunrise on our beach is such an awesome experience. In a turbulent
world, there is so much peace on the other side of the beach crossover.
It's nice to change the noise of traffic to the soothing sounds of the
waves.

I
was in a softer mood when painting this one. I need something calming
during this election season as an alternative to banging my head on the
wall. Serenity now...

daily painter, sunflower painting, tulip painting,
If you're having a grey rainy day today, this small seascape painting might help you get through the day.
It's a small view of the ocean from east central Florida. I love the repetitive action of the waves and could watch them roll into the beach for hours at a time.
It works well, just sitting on a shelf with a seashell or another reminder of your last trip to the tropics.
The scene extends around the sides of the canvas, so no framing is required.
I took a trip to Jetty Park at Pt. Canaveral the other day.
That's where all the cruise ships dock and head out to the islands. The weather was perfect, mid 70's, and I came home feeling like I had been on a little mini vacation. Maybe this small seascape painting will help you to feel that way too.
