The fog eventually began 

to break up a bit at the 

surface of the water.

 

But up where the pelicans

were flying, it was still very thick

I wonder how they see

where to fly in 

the fog!

I have been to the Pacific Northwest recently, and before painting all the greens in the rain forests, I just had to paint this little boat, which I thought quite striking with its yellow buoy and its reflections.

It amazes me that the colors of the ocean are different every day. Sometimes this same view is quite turquoise, but that would be on a calm and sunny day. Other times the sunrises are so vibrant that it's no use to paint them as they really look--they just don't look real.
